Suikoden 2

As I was bored out of my mind one night a few weeks back my thoughts consisted of how to quell my insane boredom so I decided to go around ye olde torrent sites browsing for old playstation game I can emulate on my slightly aged beast of a machine. Then it all came back to me..... SUIKODEN! I loved playing suikoden.I have no idea why,its just the combination of a simplistic dramatic storyline of nations who are warring with each other and the effects it has on your main protagonist,his sister and best friend.With gameplay mechanics of a linear story and turn based battles with also RTS elements of controlling an empires army while battling your enemies.

The emphasis of the game is to go through the story while picking up allies for your kingdom along the way,sometime these allies will not appear till later in the game or in a particular chapter.These allies can be used to help fighting along side you in turn based combat or add something neat to your castle like a library or kitchen or item store.Even though you cannot get these allies until a certain time in the game you have to find them as well as fulfilling a certain condition or else they will not join you. These conditions can include something like having a particular ally in the party or being a certain level or even beating them at a duel.I will not spoil anything but you do need to collect all of these allies to get the good ending or else bad things will happen! Its still interesting to get the bad ending first to feel the full extent of the dramatic storyline.

This is definitely a game worth picking up and trying.
